I am a child of the sixties and grew up in Kenya, East Africa during the 70’s and 80’s watching you, Marvin Hagler, Thomas Hearns and Roberta Duran fight each other in bouts that have stood the test of time as being simply the best boxing matches of all time. I now live in London but I always think of that time when I used to watch the fights with my dad and I miss it terribly. Why is boxing no longer the same? We don’t have fighters that are as skilled or with the charisma that you and your fellow fighters did and there is no one like Ali ! What has gone wrong?
Dear Mr. Leonard,
I am a child of the sixties and grew up in Kenya, East Africa during the 70’s and 80’s watching you, Marvin Hagler, Thomas Hearns and Roberta Duran fight each other in bouts that have stood the test of time as being simply the best boxing matches of all time. I now live in London but I always think of that time when I used to watch the fights with my dad and I miss it terribly. Why is boxing no longer the same? We don’t have fighters that are as skilled or with the charisma that you and your fellow fighters did and there is no one like Ali ! What has gone wrong?
